On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the faerie dragon takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects the dragon cannot use the same effect two rounds in a row: Creatures stumbling upon a faerie dragon's lair will become the target of numerous pranks and other mischief until offering a gift (fruit pastries being its favorite), leaving the area peacefully, or proving an ally to woodland creatures.

Faerie toadstools, motes of sparkling colored light, tinkling ephemeral laughter, and large numbers of butterflies, moths, and fireflies all signal a faerie dragon's presence. A faerie dragon's lair is a magical place deep in the woods, located in the hollow of a high tree overlooking a pond or stream where the faerie dragon enjoys frolicking with neighboring sprites.
